Boating education in it's most basic form, basic boating safety is required in nearly all 50 states. This minimum course however is only a stepping stone to a wide array of available mariner educational instruction. Some programs are local classes offered in your area through various sources, many of which are identified below. Other options include online programs and classes available through some of the same sources and organizations that offer local classes. There are also many study at home courses that can be taken.
Boating and Navigational Education is and has been a major part of Mark's life, having started teaching the Basic Boating Safety course in 1976 in Portland area, and most recently instructing the USPS Portland's Celestial and Advanced Navigation courses.
